Protection for lunchtime swims

Matt and Hailey wanted a shade sail for their large pool, and were pleased that it also provided shade on the western side of their alfresco area. Hailey, an avid swimmer who enjoys daily dips, had been avoiding long swims in summer due to worries about sunburn.

Hailey now has her daily swim under a shade sail that provides almost SPF 50. When not in the pool they keep the sail retracted/stacked to allow the sun to heat up the water. Their teenage kids are now protected when spending hours in the pool with friends.

Installing the longest sail possible, (LxW) 13.1m x 5.6m, Matt and Hailey went for a statement colour in the popular Western Myall®. A local builder organised the columns, dug the footings and set the posts. Two 'non-builders' assembled and hung the sail in an afternoon.
